Something new is breaking forth
We can’t quite pin it down
Excitedly we watch and wait
Restless and impatient
We string the lights & hang the greens
While singing songs of joy
Reading words of hope and peace
And praying love endures
We prepare for the Nativity
God’s presence in our midst
In fact God’s been here all along
If we had eyes to see
We want the time to swiftly fly
It’s Christmas that we long for
But when our journey moves so fast
We miss more than we know
So let us spend these next four weeks
In faithful expectation
Anticipating what’s in store
